His full name is Johnnie Lee Cochran, Jr. He was born in 1937 in Shreveport, Louisiana. His father’s name was Johnnie Cochran, Sr., who was an insurance salesman, and his mother’s name was Hattie B. Cochran, who sold Avon products. His grandfather was a sharecropper. Johnnie grew up with two sisters, Martha and Pearl. He always loves Sundays because on this day he gets to spend time with his family and church.

In 1943, Johnnie’s father moved from his hometown to California and worked there as a pipe fitter. When Johnnie turned six years old, his family again moved from the southern Pacific and went to California because of the second wave of Great Mitigation.

From their marriage, they had two daughters, Tiffany Cochran and Melodie Cochran. He married again in 1985 to Sylvia Dale and remained with her until 2005. 

Jonnie Cochran also had an extramarital affair with his former girlfriend Patty Sikora, and they had a son together, Jonathan Cochran.

Many people don’t know about the allegations made by Johnnie Cochran’s first wife. His wife, Barbara Berry, published a book, Life After Johnnie Cochran, in 1995. In her book, she mentioned Jonnie’s double face. 

She claimed that her husband had a long-term affair with Patty Sikora. He used to beat her, even when they were a couple. He always wanted to maintain a good public image, but he was the opposite at home.

Barbara made these claims during O.J. Simpson’s trial. She said that her father and husband tried to scare her and tell her to deny all these allegations against Johnnie.

Johnnie Cochran’s Cause of Death:

He was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2003. The doctors suggested he go for surgery, and he listened to them. In December 2004, he removed his tumor through brain surgery.

During the time of his healing, he tells the media that he is taking his time for healing and that he will come back soon. He also told the media that they would pray for his speedy recovery.

Unfortunately, he died on March 29, 2005, when he was in his house in Los Angeles, California. At the time of his death, he was 67 years old. Johnnie Cochran was buried in Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California.
