12. Looop Lapeta
Initial release: February 4, 2022
Director: Aakash Bhatia
Adapted from: Run Lola Run
Production companies: Ellipsis Entertainment, MORE
Producers: Atul Kasbekar, Aayush Maheshwari, Tanuj Garg
Looop Lapeta is one of the BOLD Indian Movies in the world of Cursive writing, as it is an official Indian adaptation (or perhaps a well-executed adaptation) of the hugely acclaimed German cult hit Run Lola Run.
Despite depending on a known “repeat loop” trope, debutant Director Aakash Bhatia, together with four other writers and fascinating Cinematographer Yash Khanna, rises up to offer immersive storytelling that provides a highly enjoyable movie. As a result, you’ll have a highly effective product that will knock your socks off.
Looop Lapeta is a story about Savi, played by Taapsee Pannu, who is racing against time to save her boyfriend, played by Tahir Raj Bhasin, who has misplaced a mobster’s money.
Strange camera angles help to elevate this really unsettling drama. The pulsating BGM adds to it, since it follows the story step by step but never takes over.
Overall, Looop Lapeta is a “First (Class) Copy” of Run Lola Run, as Gappu and Appu would say. Or something along those lines. If nothing else, I strongly urge you to board this fascinating ride for a tonne of wacky pleasure that Bollywood rarely provides.
11. Gehraiyaan (2022)
Initial release: February 11, 2022
Director: Shakun Batra
Production companies: Dharma Productions; Viacom18 Studios; Jouska Films
Cinematography: Kaushal Shah
Everything about the film was excellent, from the cinematography to the writing to the acting. Every member of the cast did an excellent job in their respective roles. Finally, thanks to Shakun for handling such a delicate matter so well.
What I enjoyed best about these best Indian Movies is that it avoids any social criticism about adultery in favor of focusing on the ramifications of every decision a person makes.
Deepika Padukone not only persuades you to believe in Alisha’s deception, but her conviction is so powerful that you feel sorry for her, which is the power of a great performance. Let the birds sing whatever they want; she’s spoken out with a flawless rendition of something almost too personal for her. She has such a strong grasp of Alisha that you can almost sense a personal connection between the two avatars.
10. Badhaai Do (2022)- Indian Movies
Director: Harshavardhan Kulkarni
Release date: 11 February 2022
Box office: ₹28.33 crore
Music by: Score: Hitesh Sonik; Songs:: Amit Trivedi; Tanishk Bagchi; Ankit Tiwari; Khamosh Shah
Production company: Junglee Pictures
Distributed by: Zee Studios
Sumi and Shardul live double lives as gay and lesbian community members who are socially marginalized. They believe that settling for a compromise marriage to appease their overbearing families will provide them with cover while they pursue partners of their choosing. The story of this family performer is built around what they eventually achieve and how they do it.
Sumi and Shardul (Bhumi Pednekar and Rajkummar Rao) are newlyweds who live together like roommates in the film. Following Sumi and Shardul’s wedding, they go on a path of walking on eggshells in order to keep their secrets hidden from their families, friends, and neighbors while remaining loyal to themselves. They end up racing from one chaotic circumstance to the next in the process.
The romantic interludes between Shardul and Sumi and their real partners play out with the same ease, comfort, and turbulence as any other couple in our films, indicating that the film’s goal is not to stereotype the gay and lesbian community, but to change minds and eliminate prejudices against them.
The video delicately depicts the great loneliness and sense of isolation that a gay person feels, especially when they don’t have a window to freely interact with their family and are forced to cope with matters on their own. In the second part, the protagonists’ attempts to overcome their loneliness and communicate with their families are underlined.
Excellent representation of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities. entertainment for the whole family Good comedy and nuanced performances. One of Rajkummar’s greatest performances.
9. A Thursday (2022)
Initial release: February 17, 2022
Director: Behzad Khambata
On a Thursday, Naina Jaiswal returns to Lil Dots play school after a three-week sick absence in the new Hotstar Multiplex film. Naina is regarded as the ideal teacher by the parents of the children, the school’s assistant, and the majority of the community. The students adore their instructor, Naina. She entertains them by playing with them, caring for them, and showing them their favorite cartoons. But as soon as the kids start making noise.
Behzad Khambata, the director, has made every effort to keep the film as sharp as possible. The film is devoid of music and theatrics, and while Naina’s requests appear implausible, her motivation makes them plausible. Kaizad Gherda’s background score is in rhythm with the thrilling moments, which adds to the intrigue.
A THURSDAY is a film with no songs. The background score by Roshan Dalal and Kaizad Gherda is one of the film’s strong suits, contributing significantly to the suspense aspect. The cinematography of Anuja Rakesh Dhawan and Siddharth Vasani is excellent. Madhusudan N’s production design is incredibly detailed. According to the storyline, Ayesha Khanna’s clothes are realistic and non-glamourous.
A THURSDAY, on the whole, is a tremendous surprise. It has a tight storyline, excellent execution, and Yami Gautam Dhar’s best performance to date. It’s a movie that should have been released in theatres. It would have been the sleeper hit of the year, if not the sleeper super-hit, if it had been released on the big screen, especially around Women’s Day week. Strongly suggested!
8. Love Hostel (2022)
Director: Shanker Raman
Writers: Mehak Jamal, Shanker Raman. (screenplay) Yogi Singha
Stars: Bobby Deo, Vikrant Massey, Sanya Malhotra
A beautiful film; it appears to be a true story that still occurs in northern India, particularly in Haryana and Bihar. People should watch this movie to learn about the situations faced by lovers of all religions and castes, and how they run from place to place merely to save their lives from their own parents, siblings, and relatives. Bobby Deol and others provide excellent performance.
Sanya Malhotra and Vikrant Massey give outstanding performances! The cast and crew, as well as the delivery of words and the storyline, were a wonderful combination. I couldn’t stop myself from binge-watching.
Bobby Deol has made the director’s job of portraying the entire tale much easier. This is one of the best thriller romance Indian Movies that will give you shivers, and I recommend it to everyone.
7. Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022)
Release date: February 25, 2022 (India)
Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Story by: Hussain Zaidi
Budget: ₹160 crore
Distributed by: Pen India Limited
For far too long, I’ve been a Sanjay Leela Bhansali fan. My favorite of his films was Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, but after that, he began making sad, sappy pictures. I’ve never been a fan of sad movies and consciously avoid them. He has finally made a film that does not make me cry. Without a question, this is one of the best films ever made.
All of the cast members did an excellent job, but Vijay Raj and Ajay Devgan deserve special attention. But without a doubt, Alia Bhatt is the film’s major star; she carries the film like no other, and this is one of the best performances I’ve ever seen.
It’s a dramatic film that presents a true picture of the life of a prostitute. Also, all of the actors’ performances, particularly Alia Bhatt’s, are outstanding. I like this film. Prior to its release, I was one of those who did not want to see it, but after seeing it, I am extremely impressed.
And I recommend it to any true movie enthusiasts who want to watch a thrilling, true story movie that will inspire you with the best acting from everyone. Please watch it right now; it will undoubtedly become one of your favorite Indian Movies.
6. Jhund (2022)
Initial release: March 4, 2022
Director: Nagraj Manjule
Budget: ₹22 crore
Production companies: T-Series; Tandav Films Entertainment Pvt.Ltd; Aatpaat Films
Distributed by: Zee Studios
With this film, ‘Jhund,’ Nagraj P Manjule has once again done an outstanding job. This is the reality for India’s 80 percent of people. They are the majority, but they are suppressed and ignored by the true minority in the population, which is the rest of the upper class.
This is a true story brought to life on television as a realistic drama. And it’s not just a documentary-style film; each scene has significance! All of the scenes in the film have a lot of impacts, are fast-paced, and strike you hard!
Especially the finale scenes, where the character carries a load of crimes and an unlawful conscience, but is baptized on screen when he eventually emerges clean from the metal detecting machine door, leaving the illicit items behind. That scene makes me cry. This is such an emotional, profound, and difficult sight to see. Similarly, they could not pass the wall of inequality and the real large wall in the area since they were minorities and from a slum, but with their abilities and talent, they not only crossed the wall but also flew over it! That scene gives me goosebumps all over again!
Congratulations to the filmmaker for creating such a masterpiece. And this should not be a source of resentment, particularly among the upper class, simply because minorities are being recognized and Dr. Ambedkar and Ambedkarites have been prominently displayed. And they’ve given it a bad score on purpose. That is a sign of shallowness.
5. Jalsa (2022)
Director: Suresh Triveni
Writers: Prajwal Chandrashekar, Abbas Dalal (dialogue) , Hussain Dalal(dialogue)
Stars :Vidya Balan, Shefali Shah, Rohini Hattangadi
The most interesting part of the film, aside from its outstanding sound design and cinematography by Saurabh Goswami, is when the title starts to show up. Suresh Triveni’s fine narration, along with stupendous performances by Vidya Balan(another crown in her glorious career) and Shefali Shah, keeps a balance between being sanctimonious and the rationality of middle-class life. At that same moment, one realizes how, as a result of a domino effect, all of these disparate characters are becoming intertwined. The film’s background music is absolutely perfect.
The conclusion is like the end of a short tale that begs to say more when it’s over. If you enjoy noir, Balan, or Shefali, or outstanding writing that sticks with you long after the movie is over, you should see this film.
It’s also encouraging to see Indian cinema moving toward diversity and proper portrayal. The director and casting crew deserve kudos. The picture is deserving of all the praise and acclaim. It’s a must-see.
4. RRR (2022)- Indian Movies
Initial release: March 24, 2022
Director: S. S. Rajamouli
Budget: 5.5 billion INR
Story by: V. Vijayendra Prasad
Distributed by: Lyca Productions, Pen India Limited
RRR is the feature-length definition of S. S. Rajamouli’s ability to create cinema that transcends language and nativity barriers, eventually delivering what many try but fail to deliver: universal entertainment. If Magadheera, Eega, and the Baahubali films were just a taste of what he can do as a filmmaker, RRR is the feature-length definition of his ability to create cinema that transcends language and nativity barriers, RRR is the feature-length RRR is a gripping action drama with all the elements of a superb visual spectacle, and seeing it in 3D will only enhance the experience.
RRR is epic in every sense of the word, and really Ravishing, Refreshing, and Recommendable, from huge production values to poignant emotions to excellent action moments. Despite the fact that the film is roughly three hours long, it never feels that way.
In reality, when seeing RRR, an explosive cinematic blockbuster with enjoyment for all ages despite the U/A rating, time rushes by at a breakneck pace. Apart from the fantastic performances by Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, and others, the cinematography, visual effects, and fight and dance choreography are some of the film’s primary features.
In their brief but crucial parts, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt dazzle. Another plus is that the music never gets in the way of the tale, but rather adds to the enjoyment of the experience. Then there are the battles and stunts, which completely dominate the show and provide a lot of bang for the buck, which is just what any action fan could want.
3. Dasvi (2022)
Initial release: April 7, 2022
Director: Tushar Jalota
Story by: Ram Bajpai
Written by: Ritesh Shah; Suresh Nair; Sandeep Leyzell
Distributed by: Netflix
Tushar Jalota’s debut film is refreshing and well crafted. Abhishek Bachchan and Namrit Kaur have done an outstanding job in this film. The film’s message is clear: education is important. The movie features an emotional theme as well as a lot of hilarious moments. The music is excellent and complements the storytelling, particularly the tune Ghani Trip. It reminds me a little bit of Raju Hirani. It’s lighthearted, clean, and contains a message. It was fantastic. One of the top films of the year 2022.
The film sends a powerful message about the need for education in this day and age. It is a lot of fun. All of the actors are fantastic, but Abhishek Bachchan stands out in this film. It’s wonderful to see him back on the big screen.
2. Jersey (2022)- Indian Movies
Release date: April 22, 2022 (India)
Director: Gowtam Tinnanuri
Distributed by: Pen India Limited, Yash Raj Films, Balaji Motion Pictures
I was initially hesitant to see this film because it was a remake and I was familiar with the plot. It was only during lunchtime that I began to watch it. But, my, what a movie! What an incredible performance by Shahid Kapoor, a true veteran!
The fact that he was able to collaborate with his father, Pankaj Kapoor, was the icing on the cake!! Shahid’s son, played by a young child, is just a darling!
Mrunal Thakur, as the inspirational wife, is exactly as good as she was in Toofan. Every time we see her, she improves. I’d like to see her in more wonderful flicks like these.
The supporting cast, directing, music, and storytelling are all exceptional!
What a heartbreaking heart touching movie, his love for his son made him sacrifice his life. a sad heart touching movie, his love for his son made him give his life… You can relate to that as a parent. The bond that existed between father and son was breathtaking. I cried throughout, and while there were some lovely comedic parts, the film stayed true to its emotional core.
It’s always great cinema and films that appear to be getting pushed back in theatres. They should have released it later so that more people would see it.
1. K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022)- Indian Movies
Release date: April 14, 2022 (India)
Director: Prashanth Neel
Box office: est.₹1,233–1,250 crore
Budget: 1 billion INR
Distributed by: Prithviraj Productions, Excel Entertainment, Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, AA Films
Chapter 2 of KGF expands on the scale and plot revealed in Part 1 and raises the bar even higher. The filmmakers were very confident in their work, and it shows in every frame. They have proved they recognized what the fans wanted, and delivered the promised product without any problem, from wonderfully picturing the KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) to explosively choreographing the action sequences to boosting Rocky’s character several times.
I was also pleased to hear a lot of applauding and whistling for virtually the whole show, and credit for it goes to the dialogue writer as well. The music was also fantastic, and it didn’t get in the way of the tale (albeit one song in the second half was unnecessary).
The writing is the film’s strongest feature. KGF Chapter 2 has all the characteristics of a proper mass entertainer, from reintroducing old characters and introducing new ones to building up conflicts and backing them up with explosive action. There isn’t a single scene that feels dragged out or excessive. Sure, it can feel long at times, but it never becomes tedious, and the tale is kept interesting until the very end thanks to various twists and turns.
One thing I’d advise viewers to avoid doing is getting up and walking away once the credits begin to roll. There is an important sequence in the middle of the credits. Aside from that, if you enjoy period action flicks, this one should be on your list to see. In the end, I’m just delighted and a little proud to watch a film I enjoyed in 2018 get a lot more attention and viewership in its sequel in 2022.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the best Indian movies are those which offer a new perspective on Indian society and culture. They are not just about the good or bad deeds of the people. If you are a movie buff and want to see what is currently on the big screen, you are in luck.
There are plenty of Indian movies to choose from. The only problem is that you need to be very selective because most of the time, Indian movies are not as good as they could be. Also check our latest post- Zombie shows
